The rise and expansion of urban logistics is obvious and partially linked to developments in e-commerce. Urban logistics has to integrate the last mile in the total logistic chain of transport of goods, from the producer, over container transport by ship, train and trucks through an effective distribution system in dense urban environments.
The AEMC-network position
AEMC insist on the need to distinguish the logistic issue in the general mobility problem. Logistics have their own specific demand in the urban planning and the city organization, in terms of zones, delivering zones and hours, local distribution centers etc.
